Here is my next draft installment. This time, I decided to focus on the 1996 draft:

First overall pick: Keyshawn Johnson, WR, Jets(1996-99), Buccaneers(2000-03), Cowboys(2004-05), Panthers(2006)

Had a pretty good overall career, but is best remembered for "Just give me the Darn Ball" and for being shut down by the Bucs for the last six games of the 2003 season. All in all, though, he had a pretty solid career with three Pro Bowl invites, 814 career catches, and 10,571 career receiving yards.

Biggest Bust: Lawrence Phillips. Need I say more.

Notable first-round trades: The Raiders traded a first-rounder, second-rounder, and a fourth rounder to the Oilers for the 10th overall pick. They used it on Rickey Dudley, who was a major bust with bad hands.

Biggest Steal: WR Terrell Owens(drafted in the third round by the 49ers)

Best draft: Baltimore Ravens

They got two Hall of Fame players in Johnathan Ogden and Ray Lewis, and they drafted WR Jermaine Lewis, who returned a kick for a TD in SB 35.

Worst draft: San Diego Chargers

Their drafting was bad in the mid to late 90's, and this year was no different. Beathard was trading out of the first round for some reason, and he gave a 97 first rounder to the Buccaneers for a 96 second. WR Bryan Still of Virginia Tech was their first pick, and he was a bust. The rest of their draftees didn't have much of an impact, either.

This was a huge draft for WR's. Keyshawn, Terry Glenn, Eric Moulds, Marvin Harrison, and Eddie Kennison all went in the first round. T.O., Muhsin Muhammad, Joe Horn and Amani Toomer were picked later. Even Patrick Jeffers churned out a 1,000 yard season. Of course, that makes the selections of Still, Charlie Jones and Alex Van Dyke (by the Jets) look even worse.

Just look at the receiving records these guys set, some of which have been broken. Most receiving yards by a rookie (Glenn,) most receiving yards in a play-off game (Moulds,) most catches in a game (Owens,) most catches in a season (Harrison,) longest reception in the Super Bowl (Muhammad,)
