Not really the official obit, but found this link for Jan Barrett. Interestingly, he was killed in trying to set a world speed record for drag boats. He is also one of just two Lombardi era Packer players that I still need to find a signature of (the other being AD Williams).

About A D Williams: The Browns acquired him for Willie Davis from G Bay on 7/12/60.

Do you by chance in your research know what the A. D. stands for? IE, what is his real full name? Thanks, CRC

Todd, I was looking at your list and saw John & Johnny Brewer on it. Unless something happen to him very recently, The Browns former TE/ LB Johnny Lee Brewer Sr is living in Vicksburg MS.

Also, do you have your obits list cross indexed by Team? If so I might be able to help. Rich

No, I still don't know what A.D. stands for. He's also another one of the "deceased" (reportedly dead, but no real confirmation ot even a date of death) players.
The John Brewer is the 1929 Dayton Traingle and Johnny is the 1952-53 Philadelphia Eagle.
Eventually, I'll be able to have lists available for each team.

It is just to verify that the Leonard Akin who died on 3/5/1987 is the former football player.
Many of the death dates of former players that have been published in the past were guesses, unfortunately in many cases incorrect guesses - usually made from the Social Security Death Index. Also, the obituaries will contain other biographical info (birth places, high schools, etc.) that is unknown or unverified.
