Description: TJ Troup takes the reader on a day-by-day journey through the autumn & winter months of the football season. Starting with September 1, games played on each day are highlighted that describe historical moments in the NFL. Events on those days sometimes may have seemed insignificant, but Mr Troup finds the thread & they are put in their larger historical context. Through exhaustive research, relationships between seemingly unrelated historical moments are brought to light.

Just finished it. It's a solid read with lots of original research. Great job, Coach.
Just completed it as well. One of the best books out there in a while. I like all the little details, not just the final scores of games, but what happened in the game, it's kind of the anti-fantasy football thing, where the plays called mattered, the coverage, the weather, not just the stats. I wish more books would hold my interest like this one.

Not sure if there's much I can add to the reviews above, so I'll just reiterate that coach Troup did a great job and I'll bet that it was a very tough chore to narrow some dates down to two or three games. Coach, I look forward to vol. 2, if you are so inclined. I'd also recommend, if you haven't already done so, that those who have already read the book encourage their friends and family to put it on their holiday shopping or wish lists.

It caught my attention a couple weeks ago at a bookstore due to the similar cover design. T.J. Troup's football book is about games, whereas the baseball book is about games and stuff away from the field.
